Grant Support for School Gardens & Classroom Hydroponics
APPLY TO NEW GRANT NOW BY 7/20/2026
Most of our schools don't pay out of pocket — they get funded. If you're writing a grant to bring a garden, greenhouse, or hydroponics program to your students, we'll give you everything you need to build the application, and we'll do it fast. You're not dealing with a call center. You're dealing with the person who runs the company.
Already know what you need? Request a quote for your grant and we'll turn it around quickly.
What we provide for your grant application — free
Grant reviewers want specifics: real numbers, real vendors, real documentation. Here's what we hand you, at no cost, to make your application stronger:
- Formal quotes and estimates — itemized, on company letterhead, ready to drop into your budget narrative or upload as a supporting document.
- W9 form — so your business office and the funder have our tax information on file before the money moves.
- Budget line-items — broken out the way grant budgets expect (equipment, curriculum, professional development, shipping), so you're not guessing how to categorize the kit.
- Sole-source / vendor justification letters — if your district requires documentation for why Farming The Future is the chosen vendor, we'll write it.
- Letters of support — for applications that ask for partner or vendor commitment letters.
- Curriculum and standards documentation — proof that our programs align to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which strengthens applications tied to academic outcomes.
If your grant or business office needs something on this list that isn't here, ask. We've done a lot of these.
Grants that fund the programs we build
You don't need to find money earmarked for "Farming The Future." You need money for gardens, STEM, nutrition, agriculture, or outdoor learning — and there's a lot of it. Programs our kits commonly get funded through include:
- USDA Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grant Program — the big one for garden and farm-to-school work. We know this program well; we work in the USDA-NIFA grant space ourselves.
- State Farm to School and Ag in the Classroom programs — many states run their own funding on top of the federal money.
- KidsGardening, Whole Kids Foundation, and Sprouts Healthy Communities grants — recurring school-garden grant cycles worth knowing.
- USDA Farm to School and nutrition-education funding tied to cafeteria and fresh-food access.
- STEM, CTE, and Title funding — when the program is framed around science standards and career pathways, which ours are.
- Local and regional grants — foundations, PTAs, farm bureaus, and business sponsors that fund school gardens close to home.
Not sure which pot of money fits your school? Tell us what you're trying to build and we'll point you toward the funding that's realistic.
How it works
- Tell us what you want — a raised garden program, a hydroponics lab, a greenhouse, or a full outdoor classroom. Add items to your cart and hit Request a Quote, or contact us directly.
- We build your documents — quote, W9, budget line-items, and any letters your application needs, sized to your grade levels and space.
- You submit your grant — with a complete, professional vendor package attached.
- When you're funded, we deliver — we accept purchase orders, checks, credit cards, and the federal SmartPay card, and we ship everything you need to run the program.
Why schools trust us with funded programs
We're not a catalog reseller. We build and support the programs directly, and we've done it with real districts.
- Wakulla County School District partnership — a live, working program, not a pilot on paper.
- UF/IFAS Extension partnership — university-backed credibility that matters on an application.
- Full-year, NGSS-aligned curriculum included with every program — so your grant isn't just buying equipment, it's buying measurable academic outcomes.
- Founder-run — the person answering your grant questions is the person who built the curriculum and runs the company.
